The Mission
The most important parts of a Bishop’s ministry are to proclaim the Gospel and defend the faith. One of the many ways this happens is through teaching groups of new bishops from all over the world at GAFCON’s Bishops’ Training Institute in Kenya, which has a global impact for the Gospel!
Bicycling Priest to archbishop
Almost 25 years ago, one of the first Ekklesia projects was providing six bicycles to evangelists in the Congo. One of those evangelists was Zacharie Masimango Katanda. With the bike, he was able to multiply his visits to villages, where he shared the Gospel and discipled new converts. Now, all these years later, he is the Archbishop of Congo. Recently, he wanted to get a picture with Bishop Bill to thank Ekklesia for believing in him. Over the years, many of the new Primates who have been elected in the Anglican Communion were already members of Ekklesia. Over more than two decades, the Lord has been wonderful in helping us to identify rising leaders!
